Counselor Corner

Rio School District offers 9 full-service community school counselors serving the students and families within the Rio School District. Our counseling department offers academic, personal and social/emotional/behavioral support for students and their families. School Counselors are an integral part of student support services. The school counselor is an advocate for our students and assists in organizing and participating in parent meetings and various student support meetings.  School Counselors may be contacted directly via the staff directory below.

This year, the district aims to increase funding for counseling and wellness services by billing insurance companies for therapy and support provided at school by the school counselors and mental health and wellness clinicians.  Please click on the informational videos below for more information on why your insurance information is needed and how the information will be used.  Please reach out to the Director of Student Services, Dr. Rebecca Rocha, at (805)485-3111 if you have any questions regarding counseling services.
