Consistent with California regulations, each school attempts to ensure that every child is in school on time every day, with good behavior, and prepared to learn. Children who are frequently tardy or absent without valid excused reasons may be referred to the Rio School Attendance Review Board (SARB) for a case review and conference with parents and child. The objective of the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) is to stress the importance of regular school attendance and to resolve student school attendance/behavior concerns. Penalties may occur for students and parents who repeatedly fail to comply with state attendance regulations.
SARB is handled by the Rio School District Pupil Personnel Services office at 805/485-1442.
