The LCAP is built around eight priority areas identified by the California Department of Education:
  • Access to core services
  • Implementation of Common Core State Standards
  • Access to a broad course of study
  • Student achievement
  • Other student outcomes
  • Student engagement
  • Parent involvement
  • School climate
The specific goals and targets help ensure that local school districts have more authority to spend financial resources in a way that is better aligned with the needs of the Rio School District community and our students. The following Rio School District programs and initiatives were created or expanded as a direct result of LCAP input and goals.
  • Summer programs
  • Dual Language programs at two of our schools
  • After school intervention and enrichment programs
  • A district wide family liaison
  • One-to-one technology for all students at all schools
  • Our district website, social media, Parent Square and other marketing efforts designed to improve communication with parents and prevent declining enrollment
