Greetings Parents, Students, and Community members,
The 2016-17 school year is coming to an end. Rio staff students, families, and community members have co-created “world class” learning opportunities for all our students. This year we continued to develop our schools and classes such that they guide students in becoming excellent communicators, collaborators, creative and critical thinkers and doers as well as caring citizens, community members, and learners. This focus on developing 21st century practices is built on a foundation of literacy. Along these lines, we doubled our efforts to assist all our students to develop literacy levels to meet the very high expectations of California standards. Our continued focus on guiding students to become interested and competent readers is at the core of these literacy efforts.
We look forward to the remaining days of the 2016-17 school year and all the opportunities that will be afforded us to grow and learn as a learning organization.
