About the Office of Student and Family Services
The Rio School District’s leadership believes that a child’s ability to learn is affected by social, emotional, health and economic factors outside the classroom.
To ensure student success, the District has established the Office of Student and Family Services (OSFS). This office’s priority is to develop and encourage programs that address the whole child.
Reaching beyond the students to parents and the community, we are committed to developing, coordinating and maintaining strong partnerships with local organizations and finding ways to provide needed resources to the citizens in our service area.
The Office of Student and Family services now includes a family resource center in Nyeland Acres at 3334 Santa Clara Street. Programs and services available at the Rio office will now be available at the Nyeland Center. Check the monthly calendar for office hours, activities and classes. Look for the “N” over the icon- this indicated that the activity or class is held at the Nyeland Center.

The district’s OSFS works hard to meet the needs of the student and families in the Rio community and is always grateful for community support. If you have any of items that you’d like to donate, OSFS is happy to accept them on behalf of the students in the district. The district also welcomes volunteers who are interested in sharing their time and expertise.
