When Rio Rosales Elementary School opened in its temporary location in 2000, no one could have predicted the honors this school would receive.
In 2006, Rio Rosales was named a California Distinguished School, and just one year later, the school received a Title One Academic Achievement Award and was nominated as a Blue Ribbon School. Now the school has a permanent home, opening its new doors in August 2007. In addition to offering regular education and kindergarten classrooms, Rio Rosales also offers after-school activities through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme.
