Student and Family Services

The Office of Student and Family Services changes lives.

It’s where you’ll find the support you need, all under one roof.

Our passion is for all our students to be productive, happy, successful learners. That’s why we have utilized the Full Service School (Community Schools) concept to integrate academic, health, social services, youth development and community engagement for students, families and the Rio community.

As the hub of the community, we work with each district school and more than 20 partner agencies to provide access to a wide variety of services and programs.

Our focus is on supporting the development of the “whole child.” We nurture students’ and families’ academic, emotional, social and behavioral development, and ensure their basic needs are met. Students who are hurting emotionally or facing hardships are not able to learn as effectively or will act out. By building a connection with students based on trust and understanding, we get to the heart of the issue and connect the students and families with the services they need.

Each day, OSFS helps students be successful and feel cared about, while providing families the tools they need to be more independent. We work to keep the hope and dreams of children alive and to embrace their hearts so that they can be inspired to learn.

OSFS continues to be a comprehensive resource for services and programs that supports the Rio community. We develop and nurture strong relationships with the community and partner organizations so that, together, we can provide a wide range of services. This benefits our partners by making it easier for them to reach the students and families they serve.
