Dr. Kathleen Contreras is a bilingual teacher educator teaching at California State University, Channel Islands in the School of Education and the Chicano Studies Department. She earned her B.A. and bilingual teaching credential at UCLA, a Master’s in Bilingual Education at UCSB, and a PhD in Urban Schooling & Teacher Education from UCLA. Her career in teacher education is dedicated to aspiring future bilingual educators.
Kathleen is the author of four books for children, including Pan Dulce (Scholastic, Inc.); Braids/Trencitas (Lectorum); Sweet Memories/Dulces Recuerdos (Lectorum), and Harvesting Friends/Cosechando Amigos (Arte Público Press).
