“I Scream For Ice Cream”

I Scream For Ice Cream

(Adapted from the poem, “This is Just To Say”)

by Williams Carlos Williams

I have attacked

The heavenly tempting

Gallon of ice cream

That was concealed in the freezer

And which you were

Presumably

Preserving

For dessert

My apologies

It was so irresistible

Scrumptious and so tasty

“The Thief”

The Thief

Inspired by the poem

“This is Just to Say”

by William Carlos WIlliams

I have enjoyed

The Lindor Chocolates

That were very

Well hidden

In your room

And which

You were obviously

Trying to stash

From us

While they were melting

In my mouth

I couldn’t help but

Think about

Your reaction

Forgive me

They were luscious

Yummy tempting

Yet so sweet

And scrumptious

I enjoyed them

Very slowly

For both of us

“Unregrettable,Yet So Guilty”

Unregrettable,Yet So Guilty

Inspired by the poem, “This is Just to Say”, by William Carlos Williams

I have slurped down

The last of the “Cotton Candy Frap” from Starbucks

That was relaxing

So lonely

On the kitchen counter

Just waiting for someone

To guzzle it down

And enjoy the sensational taste

Traveling to the stomach

And which

You were obviously

Expecting

For after your hard-working, tiring,

Lengthy day at basketball practice

Forgive me

For it was irresistible

So mouth-watering

And so delightful

I guarantee

You wouldn’t

Have savored

The tempting treat

As much as I did

Lemonade

Inspired by the poem,

“This is Just to Say”,

By William Carlos Williams

 I have gulped down

The ice cold lemonade

That was sitting

Inside the fridge waiting for somebody

To scarf down and devour its refreshing flavor

And which you were obviously expecting

To save

For the long, tiring, walk home from school

Forgive me

It was not my intention

And I could not resist

It was so delicious

So cold

And so tempting
